Visibility

As one of Cleveland's favorite local and tourist destinations, the Market Square Park district has over a 100,000 visitors per year. At this major crossroads, according to the GCRTA over 5,000,000 people in 2004 traveled through the Market Square Park bus station routes at the intersection at West 25th and Lorain Avenue. For the last three Cleveland Public Art's City Xpressionz Festival has drawn more than 3,000 people to the park for the one day event celebrating the many urban art forms.

Home to the historic Westside Market, local ethnic restaurants, coffee shops, and bars as well as the renowned Great Lakes Brewery & Restaurant, the district brings residents and tourists from around the region. Attracting both neighborhood families and suburbanites, the Westside Market's 120 indoor/ outdoor merchants offer the best perogies, Italian pasties, local meat, and spices. The corner of Lorain Avenue and West 25th has been a food destination since 1840. Since 1988 Great Lakes Brewing Company has become a Cleveland institution with their restaurant and environmentally conscious brewery which distributes throughout Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Every Saturday during the summer, Open Air at Market Square brings music, dance, and art into Market Square Park, highlighting the best Cleveland has to offer.
