Small Grants Program
Through the ParkWorks Small
Grants Program, funds are given directly to neighborhood community
development corporations and groups for park programming and development.
The purpose of the program
Innovative park planning and programming is a necessary component
of a sound community development program. Now in its third year,
this initiative provides the opportunity for neighborhoods to include
parks in their overall plans.
How the grants are funded
Funded through the initial support of the Wallace-Reader's
Digest Funds and the George Gund Foundation, the grants are made
at the discretion of ParkWorks in amounts ranging from $800 to $7,000.
The funds must be matched by the organization receiving them. The
total amount funded this year was $50,000.
