Scrap Tires

August 31- Sept. 2. 9am to 2pm

Carr Center 5600 Carnegie

Ridge Road Transfer Station 3727 Ridge Road

Abandoned scrap tires are unsightly and provide prime breeding grounds for mosquitoes that spread the West Nile Virus. In order to promote public health and keep our neighborhoods clean, the City of Cleveland will:

  • Collect up to four tires at a time, with or without rims, on your normal curbside collection day.
  • Tires can also be dropped off at the Ridge Road Transfer Station; however, if you dispose of more than four, a small fee is charged. City of Cleveland residents are allowed four free dumps per year, including tires.
  • Please bring with you proof of residency, such as a current utility bill, driver's license or state identification card. For more information, call the City of Cleveland Ridge Road Transfer Station at 216-664-3162.

Last September, in response to an overwhelming number of calls the City of Cleveland, in conjunction with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District, conducted its annual county-wide scrap tire sweep. From these efforts, a total of 14,612 tires were collected throughout the county and sent for recycling. The City of Cleveland would like to thank everyone who helped make the cleanup a success.

You can also dispose of your used tires at a variety of local service garages for a minimal fee.
